In 1953 four friends walked into the Piedmont Preparatory School for Gifted Youth for what they assumed would be a normal day of school. Little did they know what strange events awaited them inside. That windy late-October day was the last time anyone ever saw Jack Elliot, Thomas Cole, Francine Beal, or Missy Baker again. Unbeknownst to them, their science teacher, Professor Alistair Longfellow, was just putting the finishing touches on a very dangerous experiment. Longfellow, considered somewhat strange by his colleagues, and a bona-fide lunatic by his students, was in everyone’s estimation, a genius. He had been teaching at Piedmont for only a few months when the strange events that took place occurred. No one really knows exactly what happened, just that four teenagers and their teacher disappeared never to be seen again. The police conducted a thorough investigation but no evidence ever turned up. All the other students in the class said that Professor Longfellow was raving loudly about time and space travel that day in class. He asked for 4 volunteers to come to the front of the class to participate in an experiment and when Jack, Thomas, Francine, and Missy stepped up to his desk there was a loud bang, a flash of light, and then they were all gone.
The Piedmont Preparatory School for Gifted Youth had to shut down only a month later due to parents withdrawing their children from fear. After many years the parents of Jack, Thomas, Francine, and Missy had tombstones setup at the graveyard for their lost children. Now to the present day…
Every year in late-October something strange happens here on the site of the old Piedmont Preparatory School for Gifted Youth. Some say that Longfellow opened a hole in space and time. Others say that he opened up a door into another dimension. Nobody knows for sure. Are you brave enough to find out?
